French MAS 49/56 Semi-Automatic Rifle with Scope, Two (2) Magazines, and Accessories, #H00298, .308 Win. cal., 19" barrel, parkerized finish, hardwood stock and handguard, post front sight with protectors, and adjustable aperture rear sight. A B-Square mount, Weaver rings, and 6x42 scope are attached to left side of the receiver. Scope has a few light marks to the tube, optics are bright and clear. Both magazines are stamped ".308"on the floorplates. Includes a French army two-cell green cotton magazine pouch, British military cotton ammunition bandoler, black rubber "MAS 1962" recoil pad, black leather French military sling. Left side of the receiver is marked "MAS MLE 1949-56/CAL.(overstamped)7.62/.308". Barrel stamped "12764". No visible import marks, possibly stamped under the scope mount. Launcher has been removed from the muzzle, and the two flip-up sights remain in place and operate smoothly. Condition overall is very good, retaining approx. 75%-80% finsih, with wear to the receiver and cover. There is rust patina to the end of the gas cylinder. Wood with scattered moderate dents to the handguard, with an even colored finish. Action is a little stiff but functions properly. Bore rates good with darkening in the grooves, and clearly defined rifling. Est.: $700-$900. (C&R)
